Meaning
から means “from” or “since” and まで means “until” or “up to”. Together A から B まで gives a range: 九時から五時まで is “from nine to five”.

Can から also mean because?
Yes. After a sentence, から gives a reason: 寒いですから、コートを着ます. At N5 learn the from-meaning first.
What is the difference between まで and までに?
まで is until, for something that continues. までに is by, for a deadline: 五時までに来てください.
